I just finished baking some items for a fundraiser (garage and bake sale) our MOMS club is having for The Women’s Center. I wanted it to be more. I wanted to bake everything! The more you make the more you are helping right? I made two different batches of cookies, about six dozen, and wrapped it was about three. I got to try a new recipe, and my daughter even got to help with everything. She was excited that she would be helping other kids and mommies.

For me, it’s not just because it’s ‘that time’ of year, where everyone opens their homes and recipe books to share with friends and family. I enjoy being able to help – however I can, and sharing my love of baking with others AND have it go towards a cause – other than to get a sugar buzz is especially meaningful. Whether you make something from scratch or ‘scratch’ open a box it’s the thought that counts.

I am looking forward to many more events coming up where I can share my treats AND help a cause in the process!
