Phipps Conservatory
Took the good camera to Phipps Conservatory in Oakland for some fun with the kids. Typically it’s just too hot in the summer to lug around a camera and chase kids, but we actually lucked out and had the place to ourselves. I got a few really cool pictures that I have been wanting to capture for awhile.
Seeing as how D went to Carnegie Mellon, I’ve taken a liking to thistle. This blue echinops thistle is beautiful and I hope to add it to our own garden next year. Very whimsical and super photogenic. The only editing I did with this photo was cropping it. The colors were truly that striking.
Another really geeky looking plant at Phipps was the Mosaic Plant. It took a few tries to get the right angles, but how cool is this plant? My number nerd side is happy.
